IBID Resuscitation Fields

IBID Resuscitation fields displayed in Ibid record type "Acute major Injury admission (resus &/or significant inhalation)" to record the formal resuscitation of the patent if needed along with any procedures treatment and complications as required.

Formal Resuscitation

When formal resuscitation is required, the resuscitation box will need to be ticked, this will generate a data set to record any resuscitation given.

Resus Start Date- Choose from drop down calendar or free type the correct date the resuscitation was given.

Resus Start time - Scroll or free type correct time for resuscitation.

Principal Resus Fluid - Choose from drop down list the resuscitation fluid used

Procedures During Resusc Period

No Procedures Used in Resusc - Tick box if no procedures were used in resuscitation of the patent, this will clear the following boxes. Once the following boxes are ticked this field will clear.

Tick the relevant boxes for procedures used in resuscitation.

Time - Scroll to correct time or free type.








End of Life Comfort Care Only

This field is to be used for Major Severity cases only!

Ticking this field indicates that during the period of initial assessment and resuscitation a decision was made that the injury was not survivable and the patient was to receive comfort care only, with the acknowledgement that active resuscitation and treatment would be futile.

Once the Comfort Care only box is ticked it will generate a comfort care started date field, it is most important this field is filled in, free type date started or choose from drop down calendar. There is much interest in understanding at what stage in the patient pathway such decisions are made.

C N Antidote

C N Antidote, Date - Choose from drop down calendar or free type correct date.

CN ANtidote Time - Enter time CN Antidote was administered.

Cn Antidiote - Choose form drop down list the antidote used.

CN Antidote Dose - Enter the dose given in mgs

Fluid

Volume of Resusc fluid given in first 24 hours post injury - Enter the volume of fluid given in millilitres to the patient within the first 24 hours after the injury.

Volume of Urine from the first 24 hours post injury - Enter the volume of urine in millilitres from the patient within the first 24 hours after the injury.

Mean Mills Per kg per % - Free type the percentage in relevant box.

Complications of Resusc

No Complications of Resusc- Tick this box if no complications occurred during the resuscitation period (initial 24-36 hours). Once this box is ticked it will clear the following boxes, if the following boxes are then ticked this box will automatically clear.

Tick relevant boxes to indicate This complication occurred during the resuscitation period (initial 24-36 hours).

Myoglobinuria Severity - Myoglobinuria is usually the result of rhabdomyolysis or muscle destruction. Any process that interferes with the storage or use of energy by muscle cells can lead to myoglobinuria. Choose from drop down list the relevant severity.

P F Ratio- Free type the PF Ratio.

Manage Historics

These fields were created to add information to older patient records, only editable for users with "Manage Historics" permissions to enter available historical ICU admission data for a complete picture of the patient's record of care.

Manage Historics will only be displayed for patient records before 2014 and where the patient has no Daily Dependency Record.

Editor Types

Date Editor

Can free type date or select from drop down calender. Enter "Today" or press "Clear to exit without entering data.

Time Editor

Can free type time or use scroll bars at the right of data field.

Date & Time Editor

Free type date dd/mm/yyy and time 00.00, or drop down list. Choose "today" button if event was day of inputting data or "Clear to exit field without data entered.

Drop Down / Lookup List

The Lookup List is a collection of common names, places, catagorys, or other types of information that can help you choose a required field. Click on the down arrow to the right of the data field, highlight the relevant information to enter.

Staff Drop Down / Lookup List

Populated by staff names entered as "Users" in Administration.

'Yes/No/(Don't Know Drop Down

A special kind of drop down list to allow a clearer selection of yes, no & don't know when compared to the tick box. Used predominantly in the iBID editors, but due to roll out to all data-entry fields. Input via keyboard can be acheived by pressing Y or N on the keyboard.

Tickbox

Checked - Positive with a known value = 1.

Unchecked - Negative with a known value = 0.

Gray - Don't know with a value = null.

Please note: Check boxes are grey (Unknown) by default.

Postcode Editor (2 part)

Free type 1st part of postcode letters and numbers.

Free type 2nd part of postcode numbers and letters.

Text Field

A free type field to enter as much detail as possible.

(Note: Max 255 characters)

Memo Field

A free type field to enter as much detail as possible (Unlimited chars)

Automatically Filled in Fields

Sometimes shaded, Aquila will fill in these fields automatically from the data entered in previous fields.
