This is a Technical (IT) Instructions topic

Overview

In early versions of the BIBID Import software, the Hospital Number field didn't transfer correctly. The problem was fixed with version 1.1 and the solution is to re-run the BIBID import software. Doing so will fill any gaps in the Hospital Number for previously imported records.

  • It will not overwrite any hospital numbers you may have added since
  • It will not affect any new patient records you may have added since installing iBID.
  • It will not overwrite or re-import any other iBID data.

Prerequisites

In order to run the BIBID Import you need:

  • The Firebird Client Library installing on the same PC as the import will run
  • The server name and path of the BIBID database.

If you install the iBID client application on a PC that already has BIBID installed on it, then the above pre-requisites are taken care of.

Running the import

In the latest versions of iBID, the BIBID Data Transfer option is not advertised, however the software application is still installed and can be accessed directly. The program is called importbibid.exe & it can be found in the iBID installation folder:

%localappdata%\Evolution Healthcare Systems Limited\AquilaCRS-32\importbibid.exe

Run the importbibid.exe application.

Log in to BIBID v1 via the Data Transfer Software

You now need to log into BIBID using the SYSDBA user profile. If you need the SYSDBA password please contact Cathy Reade at Wythenshawe Hospital.

Import

Once you're logged into BIBID you will see the start screen that summarises the import process. As you have already imported the bulk of the data and this will just transfer the hospital numbers, this process should not take too long, depending on the number of records you have in your BIBID database, the specification of the PC you're using & your network conditions, etc.

Click "Start Import" and the records will start to import and the hospital numbers transferred.

Confirm the Import was Successful

In the event of any errors during import, please record the precise wording of any errors that may appear on screen. Any data errors will appear in the error log that should be sent to us (see below). Please start the IBID application and confirm that the hospital numbers are now showing in the patient demographics records.

Please contact www.EvoHelpdesk.co.uk in the event of any problems.
