Before you start
For upgrades, do not uninstall the existing AquilaServer & all users need to be logged out before upgrading. Read through all steps first.

Steps

Download the setup file
Download `AquilaServer vN.N New Install` or `AquilaServer vN.N Upgrade` as appropriate from www.evolutionhealthcaresystems.co.uk/downloads (login required). -
Backup
Ensure you have backed up the database before commencing -
Users logged out
Ensure all users are logged out, and then temporarily close the TCP port in your firewall to keep users from logging into the system, usually this is port 8099. -
Run the setup/upgrade
Run the setup/upgrade file you downloaded. Do not use older, previously downloaded setup files, as these may be out of date. -
Enter the database connection details
Enter the server name, database name. Enter either the SQL login credentials or use domain authentication. -
Upgrade only: Database Upgrade
When the files have been replaced, the database upgrade starts. This usually takes 5-10 minutes. If there are any issues with the database upgrade, they will appear on screen. If there are any issues, do not proceed with the installation and contact us with the problem details. -
Upgrade only: Data Recalculation
On a major upgrade, after the database upgrade the analysis data will be recalculated. This will take some time, depending on the amount of data, hardware specs, etc. Note that the system is available whilst the calculations are running, but it will affect system performance. The choice to make the application available to users at this point, is at the discretion of local IT -
Re-open the Port
After the Installation re-open port 8099 on the server firewall if you closed it initially. This may be done during the data recalculation at your discretion
Backup the Database
Backup the IBID database to provide fall-back in the event of a failure.
